            The Green Revolution

            The Green Revolution was launched in India in 1960. Under this the government

            took several steps to increase agricultural output in India. These include:

            •  Using better quality seeds
            •  Increasing area under irrigation

            •  Using manures and fertilizers
            •  Using modern machinery such as tractors and harvesters.

            As a result of this, our agriculture production has gone up several times.

            Today  we are not  only  self-sufficient  in  food  production,  but  we also  expert

            agricultural products. However, the excessive use of chemical fertilizers has caused
            great damage to the soil in some parts of India.


            Industries in India


            Look  around your house.  You  can  see several  things–televisions,  books,  pens,
            tables, utensils, clothes, sugar, etc. These are all finished goods. We can use these
