             4. The Wholesale Market : Wholesaling refers to selling of goods to merchants usually in
large quantities for resale to consumers. A wholesaler purchases goods from producers and
manufactures in bulk because shopkeepers purchase different articles in large quantities. The
wholesaler serves as an important link between the producers and retailers. They purchase in
bulk and sell in small lots to retailers or industrial users. Wholesalers spend a large amount of
money to purchase a special variety of goods. They have to store goods, thus they take a big
risk. Sometimes when they purchase goods from producers,
the cost of the material is low and sometimes high, likewise, at
the time of supply to retailer, the cost of goods also fluctuates.
Therefore, they take a big risk. A wholesaler does not require
a shop at a fixed location, nor does he have to spend money
on advertising or on window display. Their margin of profit is
comparatively low to the retailer. They do not have to provide
after sale service to their customers or deliver goods to
consumers. Their customers are retailers and it is the duty of
retailers to provide after sale service. Wholesale Market
